The Philadelphia Police Department has announced a series of six town hall meetings in July with Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey.
The public meetings, similar to sessions the commissioner conducted in January after taking command, are aimed to let the public give "recommendations and advice to help the Police Department make their neighborhoods safer," said Lt. Frank Vanore, police spokesman.
While residents are free to attend any meeting, the sessions are scheduled in each of the city's six police divisions, and will also be attended by local commanders from the districts in those divisions.
All will begin at 7 p.m. The schedule:
Southwest Division:
July 8, Metropolitan Baptist Church, 3500 Baring St., for residents of the 12th, 16th, 18th and 19th Districts.
