It's only open if you go through the building, or are you saying that the door in the building was locked too?

Generally it is open all hours the center is open, but I have been there at times and been surprised to see it closed.

Yes, that is an accomplishment! Mine are 7 and 27 months - the warm weather is making it easier to get out, though. It takes a full 10 or 15 minutes less when i don't have to bundle them both up.

Unfortunately, the building is sometimes closed at odd hours with seemingly no warning. I haven't really looked into the hows or whys of this.

If the weather is nice on Wednesday, I think we can try this. My daughter is like...27 or 28 months old. Whatever, she was born in February. I hate the month count. She's 2. That's better.

Post Marion Anderson Kids Group

I like the idea very much since for a few years a lot of new people with young kids have moved into the GH area. I will try to go this week.

Around 20th and Kater, some parents used to have a "babysitting co-op" where they would trade babysitting nights. It would be great if something like this could emerge from a parents' group.

Probably a good time for someone to re-post the info on the SWCCfamilies Yahoo group? Not having kids, I'm not subscribed to that one...

EDIT: Whoops, my mistake. I *am* subscribed. Info on this group is available at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SWCCfamilies/

(And I do have kids, but they're all middle-aged now.)

Please do. The weather is supposed to be warm on Wednesday. We have a few other children that age, including my older son.

I didn't realize you had to enter the building. Everytime I've been there the gates have been open and I have entered the playground via one of the gates, either on Fitzwater or 17th . I walk down Fitzwater, so I come upon the playground first.

We had another great turnout yesterday, about 8 families, and some new. It's really fun to go and see the playground in use! I've learned some families are just showing up every Wednesday, so I plan to start doing that as well. By my count, there are about 20 families so on any given week, there should always be someone to play with. I think it's just great to count on meeting other children at the park. Let's keep it up!

If anyone would like to be on a central mailing list, please PM me. But this is a completely open invitation - anyone welcome, whichever Wednesday you can make it!

D'oh! I totally forgot about this!

We might just show up next Wednesday anyway.

Great! We're there many afternoons--it really is a nice space and we've met some sweet older kids there too. My son's b-day is early March, so he is very close in age with your daughter.
