She was on the 2300 block of Grays Ferry and kind of looked like a gyspy and it was some sort of novelty store. I got a marrionette of the Tramp from "Lady and the Tramp" from Her back around 1957. I think she was still there into the mid 60's.

SOSNA has/had a grant to put together an architectural catalog of the neighborhood. I have the grant material at home because I said I would help. I will look through it tonight, but it would be great if we could as a community complete the grant and have a nice multi-media presentation to use for PR and just overall neighborhood pride. I'm thinking Now and Then photos, some oral histories from long timers, maybe a little video and some appropriate background music:
Gamble/Huff some local jazz, (does anyone have any recordings of the late great Nate Wiley and The Crowd Pleasers?) Marian Anderson any local gospel? some of our current artists, which I guess would be The Roots... I've got the whole thing planned out in my head, if only I had some talent, or knew any talented people.......
