I saw the dreadlocked character actually smoking crack on South Street between 17th and 18th.

I heard those shots too. A neighbor told me that it was a drug related shooting, but no one was hit. Take it with a grain of salt.

Funny how sound travels. Two of us in the 2nd floor front room heard it loud and clear. Meanwhile my brother in the basement didn't hear a thing. And if we hadn't heard the shots, I doubt we would have paid much attention to the ever-so-common sirens and looked outside to see the action,

This is certainly true -- the "funny how the sound travels" part. I once had someone PM me about gunshots that I hadn't heard in my office in the third floor rear, but my husband had heard them clearly from the third floor front, and could speculate on the type of handgun used.

EDIT: We've had three gunfire/police action threads in the past few days, all covering the 19th-22nd, Bainbridge-Carpenter sector. I wonder if we have one gang of bad actors going up and down those streets. Maybe one arrest will clean it all out. Do you suppose we should have one single "Crime" thread here rather than scattering this stuff all over the place?

Default SWCC crime thread

Hello, folks. I'm going to attempt to merge our various recent "who heard gunfire?" threads on this one. Not sure I know how to do it...

EDIT: I've merged several crime threads and made the whole thing sticky. I think I have all our recent crime, except for the windowbox thing, in one thread now.

I do not know if it is related, but I thought I heard a shot at 3:15 AM (Thursday early Morning) on 1900 Carpenter. It woke me up; maybe it was just a dream.

Peacemaker
