http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=3...95745138192673 Looks like it could be a cute little enclave. I assume if all the copper pipes were taken, the house is now uninhabitable. What a shame. |

Actually there is a lot of through traffic back there along 26th Street and there are about ten houses on Monstrose, most of which are occupied. The problem is the property on Grays Ferry that extends back behind the houses on the south side of Montrose. It's another one of those overgrown, not taken care of by the owner, piece of properties in our neighborhood. We were told that the break in was through the back of the house which is well shielded by the Grays Ferry property.

These guys had a black Lincoln that they used as a getaway vehicle. I'm guessing thats why they werent picked up right away around there. I don't remember ever reading anything in the reports about a victim describing a car. Anyway, I hope this makes you guys feel a little safer now. HI, folks. Just a note to say that I'll be moving the latest spate of postings about activities in Point Breeze to the South Philly forum later tonight.

FYI folks two weeks ago there was an attempted robbery on the 2300 block of Montrose Street in which the theif was caught...I am told...by the police.
This past weekend another robbery occurred on the same 2300 block of Montrose. In this instance the door was kicked in...in BROAD DAY LIGHT. The alarm went off and the theives were in and out with a 100lb plasma television. This happened between 5 and 6pm last weekend. NO SAW A THING!.. The keep quiet don't snitch mentallity has got to stop. The robbery is very disappointing to say the least but most discouraging is the fact that neighbors don't step up. It could be that no one saw or heard a FRONT DOOR get kicked down an a 100lb tv exit the building in BROAD DAY LIGHT but I doubt it. We knocked on doors to inquire about any possible sightings and no one knew a thing. Anyway folks. I just wanted all of you to know. Be aware. Last edited by Letitbeknown : 04-15-2008 at 05:11 PM. Did anyone see a 100lb plasma walking down around the graduate area today. I apparently kicked down the door by itself and then ripped itself off of the wall and walked away b/c NO ONE SAW ANYTHING.
