Came out to find one of my windows smashed in last night...

Parked next to the baseball field on Fitzwater between 17th and 18th street..

The car behind me had a smashed window, too.

Cost to repair will be over $250 based on 1 estimate I've gotten so far.

Because I leave no money / valuables in my car, whoever did it got away with exactly $0... And it won't be until next week that someone can fix it...

Grrr.....

I'm sorry to hear that. That area seems to be getting hit really hard. I always see glass on the street around there. Did you let the police know? At the very least it might be worth registering a roll call complaint through www.ppdonline.org.

Yeah. I noticed the glass too.. Been wondering when it would be my turn.. I've had the car broken into before, but I'm positive a slim-jim was used.. Wish they'd have used one this time.

Filed a police report over the phone.. Thankfully by calling around a bit it won't cost as much to fix as I thought.. $140.. But it's still such a pain...

Sometimes I see people tape signs to their windows that say "No Valuables. No Money" Does this help? I doubt it.. Might cause someone else to smash the window for spite. I'm in a people suck mood right now...

Mixed news from Captain Bethel, please share this info with neighbors:

Quote:
Mark, Monday we will be putting out information related to portable GPS
Systems being taken. In recent weeks they have become the primary
targeted item. Please pass the word in the neighborhood. After a recent
arrest in the area the Robberies have significantly been reduced. I will
keep you up to date as things develop.
Thanks

Capt. Bethel

Sorry to report I saw what looked like a fresh window smash of a large black pickup on 2400 Bainbridge (the block behind the old Grad Hosp parking garage that seems to be rather infamous for vehicle break-ins) at 7pm tonight...

Friend of mine heard someone yell "he stole my purse!" this morning at 5:30am from inside her home. Sounded like it came from 22nd and Fitz area. Does anyone else know anything about what happened?

Angry Yet another smashed car window, this time on South...

Just noticed a gray four door Honda Civic with its driver side window smashed on South between 25th & 26th less than 100 feet from the door of the liquor store on South. The interior looked well picked through.

Angry Sounding like a broken record with the smashed car windows...

Walking home from work I just saw three cars between 26th & South and the liquor store that had been broken into - Toyota Camry, a Land Rover and a Ford Taurus.

I understand Bainbridge...but what the hell, South Street gets a lot traffic...in broad daylight??!?

i was walking along the 2400 and 2500 blocks of bainbridge earlier this evening and saw two car windows smashed, along with broken glass everywhere along that stretch. i don't own a car...but can't imagine i would park there if i did. you're just asking for a half day home from work waiting for the glass repair truck...

Can we rename this the smashed window thread. A resident on the 2000 block of Christian had his window broken this afternoon. I'd LOVE to catch the f**ker(s) doing this crap.
