YOu hit the nail on the head- Newer residents are having difficulty getting the SOSNA meeting notices. Guess what? I need more than 2 days notice- I am a professional. I would have come to the last one but i found out 2 days before... and the only reason i found it was cause I dug deep searching for the info. AND there was no location posted- so I would of had no idea where to go. On a separate note: SOSNA seems pretty disorganied. Who is in charge of the website? And it is ridiculous to hear people in the different threads complain that there is no one at meetings... Go figure. Anyone have suggestions? If anyone knows when the next SOSNA meeting is- please post it now. I will be looking out for it and I can put it in my calander in advance. |

Having said that, speaking from personal experience, doing so is no guarantee that you will receive SOSNA meeting notices in a timely manner (or at all for that matter). I find my best bet is to just keep track of the "usual" dates for these meetings... 2nd Wednesdays - SOSNA General meetings 3rd Wednesdays - SOSNA Zoning meetings 4th Wednesdays - SOSNA Board meetings (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.) Then, check the community calendar at http://www.southwestcc.info/ to confirm the date, time & place. (And, having said that, I've found the times posted here have been off on more than a few occasions!) Agreed. And I also wish I knew the answers to these questions. I believe there are a couple of SOSNA Board members on this board. Hopefully they can enlighten us. |

The group has had some trouble with spambots lately, so new members must be vetted by the moderator. Doesn't take long -- a quick e-mail exchange to verify that you're a human being, and you're in.

The Mural Arts program is having a dedication ceremony for its mural installations at Chester Arthur School on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 1-3 p.m. They sent me a flyer which I've converted to an Adobe Acrobat document and put online here:
http://www.southphillyblocks.org/200...dedication.pdf The flyer includes photos of the murals and the metal sculpture on the west wall.
