Default pools

i am looking for a place to swim laps in swcc. i know that the christian street y has an indoor pool and i believe there is a pool at the marian anderson rec center. before i start making calls, just wanted to know if anyone knew the lowdown on these places -- fees, hours, space to swim laps, etc.

thanks.

Default pools abound in swcc!

thanks to the southwest center city yahoo newsgroup, i was able to find out the following:

huge, clean, open to blue skies, surrounded by a few trees --- and
nearly empty at most times! What a great treat to have in your
backyard -- and maintained by someone else!

parents too) is weekdays 5:30-7 and weekends 5-6. I think the rest
of the time goes like this: weekdays, daycamp swim from 11-1,
swimteam and lessons and freeswim from 1:30 to 4:30. Weekends
freeswim from 1-5. The pool is entered from 17th and Catherine.

also have a gym with weights and nautilus and cardio, plus indoor
basketball courts. You can use all the facilities for $5 a visit,
or sign up for a month at a time, which is a pretty decent rate.

underused I am afraid that it will be one of the ones that the city
is choosing to transform into sprinkler parks. Lame-o.

The pool at Barry playground 18th & Johnson Street is nice and quiet at night during their adult swim. Also, the pool at the Fels Center next to the Fumo library at Broad & Porter

the one at 26th & south has similar hours (including adult swim) to the marian anderson rec center's pool, but i don't think it's as big as marian anderson's ...
