As I make my way in to the library at Broad & Porter, people are running out, as I peek in I see a tiny 40 to 50 yo black woman fighting 2 cops, a male and a little female. I'm told not to enter the second set of doors so I watch, These cops could not get the upper hand on her, she was crazy kicking and punching them, after 10mins, no back up showed up!!!! at that point I was told to leave and 15 others ran out as police roll around on the floor with her. After 15 more mins., the female cop runs out and calls for a wagon, then runs to her car around the block and pulls up. The wagon never comes, the 2 cops carrie her out cuffed but still trying to kick them. I'm just thinking if this was a 6'2" 250 lb. male what would have happened???? NO BACK UP, NO WAGON? on friday afternoon???? in the 4th Dist. Don't our cops have pepper spray or tasers?

Black Jack's are not PC, otherwise the situation would have been resolved rather quickly.

Cops have pepper spray (doesn't always work, some crazies love the taste.)

Supervisors and SWAT have access to Tasers.

Lee why no back up????

Change of shift, summer vacations, details, IOD, sick days, backed up 911 calls could have all contributed to a slow response. But if they really needed help and called for it, officers would have come from across the street (1st District), Traffic (down in the Navy Yard), 3rd District, etc. I don't know what the exact situation was and whether they called for more help or not.
