That must be one crowded donut shop if all of the cops are in there!

I hear ya! But things are changing for the better again. A lot of new people are moving in your N'hood again who like yourself do care. I'm sure you heard of the EPX civic assn. & town watch. This never exsited in SP before. I been to a few meetings and it's not the same old "I don't give a sh!t south philly type". These folks invested big momey in their homes and want to keep the N'hood nice & safe. if your not a member yet you should join!

I live right around the corner from you on Mercy and I know what you mean but we are trying - by we I mean the long time residents and quite a few of the new ones try to keep the trash (both material and people) to a minimum. What we do is when we see an obvious junkie waiting for their dealer (they either come by bike or by car) we start yelling at them to go get their shyte somewhere else. It usually works. There are so many new people around - lots of foreigners - Mexican and Indian - you guys have the Indians and we have the Mexicans and one black family but everyone seems decent so far - its the white junkies from the other side of Snyder that are pissing us off. I've been here close to 40 years and it has changed but so far not enough to make me want to move. We are usually sitting out at night under the tree on 11th and Mercy - stop by and say hi. ![]() |
