Someone brought this garden up at the mtg with Police that was held Wednesday night but I don't really know people in the neighborhood so I don't have more info. I think if you contact the Civic Assoc they may have an idea.

If you're referring to the empty lot at 12th and Ellsworth that has been cleaned out and is now functioning as a garden, it was cleaned during the big Philly Spring Cleanup by volunteers from Circle of Hope church and the Passyunk Square Civic Association, as well as other neighbors.
I have the contact information for one of the guys who spearheaded the effort. I'm not sure if he'd want his info spread widely, but if you want to send me a PM I'll give you his email. |

The garden looks wonderful, and does a good job of brightening that problem-corner. Unfortunately, there is still a big splotch of spray paint graffiti on the wall towards the Peter St. side of the block.
Whoever is controlling the property: You can have the graffiti removed for free (I beleive) by contacting the city. I think it is a fairly straightforward form on www.phila.gov. |

The garden however, looks great. I can't be happier that it is on the corner of my block. That lot used to be such a weedy trashpit. |

BTW, just to follow up, though it took longer than they said it would, I did notice that the graffiti is now gone!! They came and took care of it for me, I am so excited. Thanks again for posting the information. Often I forget that if you don't ask for help you never get any.
