I thought that place closed...if its still open, I want to try it!!!!! They were/are part restaurant, part art gallery, part antique store. I've heard about it but never went.

Sorry, I should have been clearer in my post: I never got the sense that it was open; just that someone was actively shifting the stuff around.

If it's still open as an antiques shop, I'd like to check it out.

Default Phillips is no more

With the passing of John Muzi, Philips is no more but as a great South Philly tradition it with live on in my memory. When I first moved into the hood in 1980 Philips was one of the only class acts left in the neighborhood. I had my 30th birthday party there and a few Christmas parties. John and Phyllis Muzi were the consumate hosts inviting all to partake of their unique ambiance and the food was excellent. I remember a host of artists ,politicians and local color sitting together at the bar tended by John.

Lets not try to upscale our area lets keep it as an antiquated old farts home.. i'm so sick of all the negativity every time some new bussiness or resturant plans an opening. To those of you who encourage change hip hip horahh the rest of ya phfffft.

Once was cute; twice is spamming. Cut it out, or I'll tell them about the rat feces problem.
