Well, I'm not a SS fan but I welcome this if it's true. Man, I am so excited I got into this area when it was cheap, property values are going UP, woohoooooo

Default hmm..

I eat at Starr's restaurants and other good ones all the time and I don't even own a car. I live in a CITY, I don't need one! (I take the bsl to work) And I know plenty of other people like myself. We either walk, take cabs or the subway when we go out. I can't believe one of the primary concerns of people was parking! I should have known better though as this is South Philly.

And no I don't consider myself a hipster, a yuppie, cranky old south philly native or anything else so please don't start on that sh**.

But you forget the many, many people that go to Starr restaurants, as well as the many others, that DON'T live in the City, and do rely on their cars to do so. They frequent the locations that make their destinations/arrival/etc, much easier. The restaurants in this City cannot possibly survive only on city residents, and you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

Yes, but...Starr's restaurants have been doing great and I can't think of any of them that have a parking lot.

You misunderstood what I said. I was responding to the post that said people that go to SS restaurants don't take public transportation. His restaurants are not full of snobs like some people think they are.

So no, I'm not fooling myself.

They don't have parking lots attached to them, no, but they are in CC and close to parking lots, or have valet parking in some instances.

This, however, is IN S. Philly, not exactly known for lots of on-street parking, and not near the Speed Line. Parking is more essential here.

Are you sure you want that? A restaurant of this caliber can create a critical mass, and a locals-only may not be enough to sustain it.
