Try the Midtown 2, at 11th and Sansom Street. 24 hour Diner. Right across the street from Jefferson Hospital. They even have a cocktail lounge.

However, if you are a lover of the piece of Americana called 'Diners' then this is definitely the place for you!!!Was this review helpful? 10 Report Abuse | Subscribe to monkeysmoose's reviews Comment on Review Post CommentCancel Reviews 1-1 of 1 Category Sponsors

Midtown diner is hardly worth a mile and a half walk.

I lived at 12th & Spruce for a few years and ate frequently at the Midtown. Unless the entire kitchen staff has been buried in the Pine Barrens and replaced with people trained by Thomas Keller, there is *absolutely* no reason to walk 1 1/2 miles to eat at the Midtown.

2) It was cheap and I was a college student 3) I was frequently drunk It's a diner; not the best food in the world, not the worst. Certainly not worth a 1.5 mile walk when OP lives a stone's throw from the Melrose. |

Personally, I like texas weiners. Its not classy, but its cheap, decent, and plenty of ambience to make anyone's day. I don't get there much, but when my wife and I go we always have fun. My favorite is the chicago with a birch beer.
