Oh no! I'mj so sorry to hear this!
I know the feeling-with my older car, i came out with no side view mirror one am! And...when i got my new car, within a week, it had already been damaged-someone side swiped the back bumper and dented it in......luckily the bumper was plastic and was able to be popped out but there's still a crease mark....it's so annoying that what you work hard for is just beaten up by idiots who don't have the sense, decency and courtesy to just do the right thing! hard to tell on this block anymore too as to who's car is who's...there's so many 'unknown's' on our street anymore, huh! good luck. |

I think I speak for everybody on the blog when I say "thank you for your support", complete with solicitous self-promoting hyperlink of course (since removed from quote).
Seriously, though, sorry to hear about your car. My cars are my babies, and I take very good care of them. It pisses me off when I see how some people treat them - ramming into the bumpers while parking, opening doors into them in a parking lot, and when Philly's finest municipal employees bang into, drag and scrape garbage cans along the bumpers on their way to the truck. Perhaps Karma will take care of the a$$hole who swiped you. I hope so. Last edited by COD : 06-25-2008 at 11:45 AM. |

I feel for you! My previous car - both mirrors within a week of each other were knocked clear across the street. A few months later I go out only to find the front of my car on the driver's side crushed and my headlight no where to be found. It's terrible - and not one person left a note. Now I have a new car - 2004 but it's new to me
- with sideviews that fold in...unfortunately the rest of my car is not made of rubber. Ive had it less than a year and I can't tell you how many dents I have - front and back...I don't love parking in south philly! Hopefully Karma gets them all !! |

After my brand new 2007 elantra was side swiped, the mirror tore off and the rear fender pushed in, I swear I wont get a new car as long as I live on these narrow streets

So sorry about your early morning surprise. Our car was also sideswiped last summer, and yet my husband still continues to park nearly a foot away from the curb in order not to scrape the tires.

I held off for years on buying a new car but I did this year, I been thru a dozen mirrors and other damage. I KNOW whats gonna happen sooner or later!!! The nimrods who hit cars and take off most likely don't have ins. or anything else. Hope it's not real bad!

This happened to us last Friday, only the scumbag didn't side-swipe the car--he crashed into it in a stolen vehicle. The stolen car was dumped at the end of the street and the guy took off. We're stuck with a $500 deductible for a $3300 repair. I wish I could find the worthless a-hole and shake him down for that $500--and then some.
