Bella 2 was closed last night. When I walked by it was around 8 and the gate was pulled down. Does anyone know anything?

They are keeping odd/early hours now. Hours are 11am until 7 on most days and closed on Sundays now.

He put it up for sale back in December & we've been working on the deal ever since. The bust last week was an unexpected bump in the road, but hopefully not a deal killer. I plan on being open by Thanksgiving. The second floor will be home to a pool table and video games, while the first floor will be all seating. The kitchen will be open & serving small bites and gourmet sandwiches. The working name is the Watkins Drinkery. I really want things with the community to go smoothly, so please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I hate the rumor mill, and I'd love to keep the truth out there. Thanks!
One of the best ways for you to quell the rumors and keep the truth out there would be to make an appearance at the next meeting of the East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association or to submit an item for publication on their website: http://www.epcrossing.org/.

Thank you! That's an excellent idea. I didn't know there was a website. The help is appreciated.

Come to the public meeting and show your support for the Drinkery. Apparently there is some vocal opposition to the transfer of the liquor license.

**CORRECTION** The Planning and Zoning Committee meeting will hold a
public meeting on **TUESDAY** (not Wednesday) July 22th at 7:00 PM.
Everyone is welcome.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Scheduled for review and discussion are the new owners plans for:

*1712 S 10th St (10th and Morris Streets) - Bella Rosa II Bar

- application for extension of restaurant to 2nd floor

- application for transfer of liquor license from Bella Rosa II,
Inc. to Watkins Drinkery, Inc.

The meeting will be held at the St. Agnes Continuing Care Center
(Broad and McKean) in the auditorium. Ask the front for directions.

Get any feeling how the other people perceived his plans?

I did too. I was also impressed by the fact that he took the initiative to come out and meet the neighbors.

Based on various emails, I believe EPX wants to come to some kind of agreement with the new owner, similar to what 1600 did with PSCA a few years ago. Like a one, two or three year conditional license or something like that. Not sure of the details.
