Default Section 8 housing and dogs.

I got a question to ask and I don't mean to sound discriminating or rude but I've noticed a disturbing trend.

Why do Section 8 landlords rent out to people who have dogs?
Almost every Section 8 house that has a dog, the dog/s get neglected and is left outside continuously.
I've yet to see one responsible dog owner who rents out the Section 8 houses near me.
If a person cannot afford housing/cost of living for themselves than how are they going to afford a dog?
They're never fixed, they never have license tags and they're always out there barking their poor little neglected heads off.

At least in my neck of the woods. It may be different where you live. And I'm not saying this is so for every person who rents Section 8 housing. I really wish it were different and I would have no problems with Section 8 people having dogs.

When your at the bottom of society's ladder, you need something below you to take your frustrations out on.

Unfortunately.
Or they really just don't know how to take proper care of them.

Not to sound discriminating, but Section 8/welfare is the training wheels of the adult world. If you're at a stage in life where you should be responsible for, oh, I don't know, taking care of yourself, but you're at a station where need the Gov. to come in and do it for you, you really haven't shown you have what it takes to take care of a dog.
The real question is why would a landlord rent out to Section 8 in the first place? I had a friend who did that and he told me it was the worst mistake of his life.

A) In some areas, you'll have a hard time renting to anyone else.

2) It's a guarantee that the rent will get paid each month

C) No matter how loathsome or irritating a means of making money is, there's a human being out there willing to do it.

Default Section 8 - Hillbilly Heaven

Well my block is being taken over by landlords that live in NYC and are of Asian descent. So far these landlords have let any scum rent. I call my block Hillbilly Heaven just to amuse myself, or else I would pull my hair out!

By the way, is there any way to find out if a house is being rented Section 8?

Also if they wreck the unit, our gov't. will pick up the check for full repairs. Most of the low life landloards are from NJ, Why would they care about your N'Hood?

Section 8 assistance cannot regulate anything about pets; its completely up to the landlord. Public Housing didn't allow pets, but now recent rule changes now allow pets-that's going to work out real well.
