The blue collar, hard working Irish didn't distinguish us as a different class of people just because they lived outside the projects and we called it "The projects", not Low density, mixed use{Section 8 combined with low income purchases}.

I know............. you're practically in Center City and that's why you stretch the truth to your friends.

I can see the High rises from Grays Ferry. Does that make my area CC too?

Default wamp wamp what it do what it do

Washington avenue is only a psychological divide... i cannot fathom how people who live north of washington could feel freaked out about crossing a 4 lane street... Thats whats holding us back from truly becoming great...and by the way the new name for north pennsport...is NOPO!!! thats right young-buckets add that to the list of sub-genres...its all brotherly love...

What next Girard Estates and Pennsport???? Now we have neighborhoods called Lower Moyemensing (LOMO) WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!

See it all starts here...we have to preserve the union from these Real Estate Nuts!!
Screw S. Philly. It is the new N. Philly. QV/BV are special because they know what trashcans are and how to use them.

Well, to see this from another perspective.
Gray's Ferry has lots and lots of parks. Lots of open space with grass. We have parking here. No double parking, no time limits. Nice to be able to park without driving around the block a few hundred times.
The houses on 30th and Tasker street are nice. They have lawns and private parking. A lot better than what it use to be. It was total crap before. They're called affordable housing. Not the projects.
No, South Philly is South Philly. We're not the "new" anything.

And from what I've seen people in Center City and other sections have troubles with using a trash can, also. The only difference is they have community workers picking up after them.

Nobody's ever bothered me here. I've never been threatened, mugged and my house has never been broken into.
It's definitely got it's flaws but so does every other part of the city.
So for those of you who want to insult it and put us down- you can all kiss our asses.

Screw you Zete.
I can't believe people are freaked out over a four lane street.
I think that's a really lame excuse.

Arrow Southwark On The West By Passyunk Avenue

SOUTHWARK, named for the London suburb which contained
the "south-work" for the defense of London Bridge, was created into a
"municipality" by the Legislature in 1762, and received full incorporation
in 1794. In 1854 it was bounded on the north by South street, ON THE WEST
BY PASSYUNK AVENUE from 5th and South to 10th and Reed. The boundary
then ran along Reed street, down 7th, and along Mifflin street to the river.
