I sent my oldest son to First Impressions for three years and we loved it. the space is clean, the teachers are wonderful and more importantly, my son learned a lot. He was way ahead of most of the children in his kindergarten class in the beginning. My sister also sends her son there now and loves it.

I agree. They are heavy with the academics and the kids are well prepared for Kindergarten.

nice to hear but is this the one that is on Moyamesing? I know their other center in Packer Park is for the older preschool children.

Do you know what the rates are? I'm really happy to hear all these good things-where we currently are, I don't think my 18 mo is going to learn too much when she moves out of the current room into the next level up....that's a shame as this is the age where they need excellent teachers as they're sponges now!

Default First Impressions on Moyamensing

We send our son to First Impressions on Moyamensing and love it -- he loves it too. The price is reasonable and there are fewer than 30 kids in the Moyamensing program. The teachers (and owners) really care about the kids and teaching -- and talk to and listen to parents.

Yes, the one on Moyamensing. I can't remember the rates. Little pricey as I recall, but no more than a daycare in town.
My kids were about 2 1/2 when they started, but they did basic color the letter type stuff.By 4 they had homework. (Writing the alphabet, find something that starts with B.)
Bonus! They did toilet train my daughter!

Default First Impressions

Loved them!!! My six year old daughter attended there before going to K at Sacred Heart and she was so prepared that she was bored at times. They are wonderful. I provided lunches and they did snacks. You do receive a small discount if you pay for the month in full. At the time, the new office in Packer Park was for the young ones but I don't know if that has changed. Found them very reasonable and their background in education was unbeatable!!!!

Thanks for taking the time for letting me know this....can't wait for next week's interview......just so worried that my daughter will be unhappy for a while when she has to move out of her current school into this one...that's the only downfall......

well, had my interview today and was thrilled with the place! even though she seems to be one of the two youngest, i think she'll fit in well and learn ALOT! I just loved how organized it was, how clean it is and how on top of things the director seems to be. It's much more of a structured atmosphere than where we currently are.
