This murder suicide was not about drug addicts, it was about domestic violence and mental illness. The woman, Kate who was killed was a very hard working , friendly, outgoing person. She worked a few jobs to keep going and was renovating her house with her boyfriend.
If anyone here goes to August BYOB at 13th and Wharton, Kate was a waitress there. They closed for a few nights this week out of respect for her. Please don't smear this poor girls death with talk about addicts and junkies. Her boyfriend, who apparently had problems, is the one to blame. He's the one who forced her family to cremate their daughter because he shot Kate in the head.

Relax...we're not talking now about the murder suicide victims. That was in relation to how we got on the subject of how the area seems to be in trouble....this situation not being related to drugs, but there are so many other drugs/prostitution related problems in the area, it's starting to make me feel like it's not the best place to raise a family. Ducky- We ARE talking about the same crew....I know what you're talking about right on 12th & Mifflin. Husband keeps saying that the cops probably don't do much to these people because to them they seem harmless....if they want to kill themselves so be it..>BUT, I think they need to be put away! How many times can the cops be called on these people! It's leaving me feel very unsafe.

i agree with you tea head i had only knew kate for a short time but will remember her forever.this is tragic and i cant imagine what her poor family is going through. i will miss her every sunday night as i would serve her at karinas restaurant. R.I.P KATIE WE WILL MISS YOU
