Yes, last March there was a killing at that park. I think it was after school though. From what I understand there was an argument between teens playing basketball, and it led to one of them getting killed following the game. Not a good situation, but in my view better than a "random" killing where an innocent bystander got shot. This, like many of the murders in Philly, appeared to be between people that knew each other.

Yes, there was 1 shooting, which freaked everyone out. No one could remember this happening before in the Park. It was between
friends over a basketball bet. Thankfully this has been a 1 time occurrence. Since the Friends group is very active, we took steps to ask for more police presence.

I used to live at 12th & Rodman. Great apt, etc. First weekend there my convertible top got sliced. I never realized it was a straight shot down 12th to the projects. Quite a few muggings happened, very different during the night.

When I saw my house in Pennsport, before I bid on it, I used to visit it at 2am, 3am etc. Parked the car and just sat and watched the neighborhood. Something I recommend to people. 25 years ago the neighborhood was dicey, but seeing the lack of night action gave me the courage to go ahead. Also the lack of security bars on windows is a good indicator. Thought about bars for my doors, but they are the originals, so I held off.....never needed to install them! I always like hanging out before I buy, and yeah I do continue to buy in this neighborhood.
