Default Harleys

How many times can a guy ride around the block on a motorcycle? Does anyone know these guys? Is it a bike gang? I think they're a bunch of losers, and I doubt many people are impressed with their loud bikes. I guess they're like little kids that need a lot of attention. Perhaps making up for some lack of manliness??

If you really believe that, why not ask them directly instead of posting anonymously on the internet?

I just think it's pretty inconsiderate to rev the engine while sitting at a stop sign or try to race down the block. A lot of homes in the area aren't made of the best soundproof material so when a bike fly’s down the street, you can practically hear it in every room in the house.

So once every few days you might hear a loud noise for 5 seconds...and that bothers you. Why are you living in the city??

I agree completely......just found it ironic to question someone's "manliness" on an internet forum they probably arent' reading.

It's understandable to hear a few loud noises when living in any urban area but when I can feel my chest pounding and my walls shaking, I have a problem. It's not as if I get angry because people are yelling or a person honks their horn but certain sounds can rattle the soul. I feel like some bikes can just get under my skin more easily than other noise.

I ride, and I hate the clowns who rev it up every 2 seconds. There is 1 reason for that behaviour: to make noise. That said, when I lived in dense areas I learned to tolerate it. (plus, I like the sound of most bikes)

I'd be happy to question one of these weenies in person big mouth. And sorry but living in the city doesn't necessarily mean that you have to live with excessive noise. For some reason, imbeciles in Philadelphia think that if you live in the city you should have to accept boorish behavior and deafening noises at all hours of the day/night. That's pretty small minded. Cities can be green and be enjoyable for everyone, not trash pits with daily aural assaults.

There are things such as noise ordinances. When I can hear these motorcycles drive by continuously 8, 9, 17 times a day (and it's the same guys), and that's no exaggeration, I think that's an intrusion on my right to have peace in my house. I can hear them throughout my entire house. Where does their right to make as much noise as they want and my right for quiet in my house start/end? It's the same thing for car stereos. Sometimes I can't even hear my tv or stereo when they drive by. That's not right.
