If it needs a Zoning Board variance, forget it. The NIMBYs will be falling all over themselves to stop it. And the Zoning Board, with David Auspitz at the helm (although not for long), will fall over themselves kowtowing to the NIMBY's because, god forbid, Wawas serve takeout! We can't have takeout! Oh the horror!

South Philly needs a WAWA. If you live in the area, make sure you go to the ZBA hearing if there is one...

Saw some trucks at this spot today. Had the name "Earth Matters" on them. I think they were digging or drilling or something.

I saw those trucks. The rigs they were using looked the same as the ones used at the Quartermaster site when they were siphoning off the plume of oil that oozed through from the refinery. Which would make sense, especially if the tanks at the station had leaked in the past. The owner would have to take care of any environmental issues before selling the property.

I'd welcome a WaWa in the neighborhood. Or a Barnes & Noble or other bookseller. We need a departure from what's become the norm. As someone has already said here, no more nail salons or drug stores!

I would love a Wawa in the neighborhood. As for NIMBYs, they're not as fanatical as other parts of the city. Besides, there's a Dunkin Donuts down the street, so it's not like this would be a new thing. And maybe the Prudential bank across the street will be forced to drop its ATM service fee.
