Default Carpet Question

I have a question about the cost of recarpeting a house. I just want a ballpark range because I don't know the exact square footage of my house, but it's one of the larger-type two story rowhomes in Pennsport. I would need to have the stairs done and all upstairs (which includes master bedroom, second bedroom, hallway, and small back den/office/nursery room).

The price should include carpet cost and installation labor. I'm not looking for the highest quality carpet, but also not cheap apartment grade.

Thanks. Also, any recommendations about a good carpet company would be welcomed.

Hey, unfortunately I've always personally found that putting down carpeting in the city has been expensive. I used to work in an apartment building and we used this company Carlos Carpets right off of 5th or 6th and South and
they were pretty reasonably priced. Still expensive but better then some other places.

Default Carpet Contractor recommendation

Don't know if you are still looking but I'd recommned Brian McGlone of Universal Flooring. His number is 267-246-7772. Tell him that his friend Anthony's Dad recommended him.

DeeBee,

Did you ever decide on a carpet installer? I am the market for carpeting also and wonder if having hardwood installed is cheaper over the long run. It seems carpet in the city just gets dirty and stained no matter how hard you try to prevent it or have them cleaned.

So if you have found someone, I would be interested in a recommendation....thanks

Take your shoes off at the door. The EPA did a study a few years ago showing that 60% of the lead dust and other contaminants found in homes comes from the bottom of your shoes. Same goes for dirt.

Default carpet question

i'm new to the blog and pretty new to the neighborhood. we bought carpet from reliable on passyunk (at tasker) when moving and found them to be really nice and with competitive prices. we bought both an area rug and carpeted a small bedroom from them. it cost us about $200 for the small room to be carpeted and the area rug was $100 for an 8x10.
