I wouldn't mind if they closed and reopened as another supermarket. I live 4 blocks from it (6th and Reed) and stopped going about a year ago after one of their cart-gatherers rammed the back of my car and the manager on duty basically told me tough ****, it's only a little scratch, deal with it. I was willing to put up with the filthiness, bad customer service and long lines in return for it's convenience. But now I drive down to the Superfresh. It's cleaner, the people are nicer, better selection and they have (mostly) functioning self checkout lines.

Yes, I understand that. But the car was literally two days old. My first car. My frist brand new car. My first brand new car that I shelled out a lot of money for.

I was mocking the dumbass manager. Unfortunately, the lack of off street parking stops me from moving to SPhila. My cars always sit to low...and they are magnets for Louies 88 Town car.

Yeah, I didn't mean it to sound like I it was directed at you. They "sit too low"? You mean in a modded way or in a non-SUV way?

yeah the lines will probably be worse with self check out judging by the level of intelligence with the ten for $10 deal....

every time I'm in there, some scrabble champ thinks you have to buy ten of the same item to get the deal......waiting in line is the price of getting to watch this exhibition of genius at work.

But has anyone on here heard it DIRECTLY from Rape-me (aka Acme?)

I have heard this rumor at least once a year in the 12 years I've lived here and it has always been false and Acme has always come out with a million posters in the store saying that the rumor is not true.

[quote=Malloy;63366]more dirt: the store manager told my friends grandfather today (lifetime SPhila resident) that they are in fact closing, and Albertsons is considering selling the land (including bank) to a developer.
