Walked by the NE corner of 9th and Carpenter yesterday, and there was someone doing some work inside. Naturally, I stopped inside and asked what was going on there. He told me that he was under the impression that a cafe was going in these. That's all he knew.

Let's assume for a second that this is correct. Seems to me to be flooding the market a little bit, no? Between Anthony's and Gleaner's to the North, Cafe RIM and Benna's to the South, and INFusion (when it opens) to the West, that would make six cafes all within about three-four blocks. Can we sustain yet another place, good neighbors? Has anyone heard about different plans for this locations?

it would be nice if a cafe opened up in pennsport
something like gleaners or bennas....it seems like they are opening up everywhere else but pennsport! (im not imagining this am i?) people say i should patronize places like cafe carmen, i do, but....pennsport is pretty big...one cafe for all of pennsport is a bit ridiculous....there are a lot of people in pennsport...

cafe carmen is fine, and i like it....but i want a coffee shop that is a little more edgy, a little more gritty...something a little more hip....oy vey

go a few more blocks north and you've got chapterhouse and the starbucks . . guess we've unofficially developed a 'coffeeshop row' . .
