Isn't Two Street in Pennsport????? Arent there enough bars for happy hour there already, especially authentic Irish bars???

As far as resturants, i think there are already a ton of resturants already in SOuth philly.

I dont think it is too much trouble for those living in Pennsport to travel to Passyunk ave for dinner for Old City or even Rittenhouse Sq.

Some neighborhoods are good for some things, while others may have something else.

I grew in the city and it never seemed strange to leave the neighborhood fors omething else. We never expected to have everything in reach.

Well there are a lot of pizza shops, hoagie shops, etc. But as for quality resaturants.....not so much. Passyunk is terrifc. I just "re-discovered" it last summer. However, it would be nice if Pennsport was known for some unique eating establishment or "hipster" bar. Irish pubs can be fun...but a little exclusince and rather intolerant of newcomers. And if your an alternative type or queer, forget it.

Well of course we go other places to go out, i have no problem with that at all, we go to northern liberties all the time, but at what point to you get tired of having to go out of your own neighborhood to partake in fine cuisine or a quick cup of coffee, and I also dont see a problem in people from passyunk or ritten house making a trip to other places either.

I am only suggesting that pennsport become a destination other than mummer activity, and as far as the bars in pennsport, they arent exactly the kinds of bars people in society hill would go to, nor myself

i mean, there is a nice bar and grille that just opened up at 22nd and christian...not exactly the best part of town but still...it's there and im sure a welcome addition to the neighborhood

there's nothing wrong in wanting your neighborhood to have a more urban appeal...i dont know...maybe its just me...

I Agree. I'd like to see Pennsport be a "Destination" to go for dinner or coffee or what ever. I hate that eveyone thinks that the only place that's worthwhile is Rittenhouse or NL. Pennsport is super cute and should be a "hot spot" for people to come to as well.

i just bought in pennsport. moving in in the next month or so. from the looks of it, it appears as if there are some decent bars in the neighborhood but i'm getting the feeling that these places are simply for regulars? is it possible to go sit down and grab a beer in doc union's or is it uncomfortable?

the man who runs the RDA like his own little kingdom. the man who controlled mariano. the man who wants to be mayor so he can run a larger kingdom for his benefit. don't you live in utah? it may be a nice pub, but the less money for doc the better.
