I was wondering if anyone here has discovered that their water service line was made of lead piping... If so, did you get your line replaced, and approximately how much did it cost?

i don't know what current costs are but it does depend on how far you are from the main service line in the street. I've dealt with a guy on 1300 block of Federal. its been so long, i think the company name is "The Plumber" or "your Plumber" he might be able to give you an idea.

Thanks. My wife and I are buying a house on the 2400 block of Hutchinson (we've been renting on Snyder for about 4 years now) and the lead service line was one of the things that came up during inspection.. And we'd like to get it replaced.

the plumber is "MY PLUMBER" on the 1300 block of Federal. A guy named Bernie runs it. i've used him a few times and have always been satisfied with his service.

try myron baker of baker and sons. super friendly, VERY experienced and reasonable prices. cell is 215.778.0479.
btw- i lived in a house from 1984-2000 with lead service and i never worried about it...have you had your water tested? if not, some of things are better left undisturbed if it seems solid now.
