Cool Oregon Avenue

The east & west streets from Mifflin & McKean southward to Pattison are all named after former Governors of Pennsylvania. But Oregon is the only one that's not a Governor. Does anyone know where this name could have possibly came from?

Hey, you know your history. Good for you! Oregon Avenue was named after the spice oregano in an attempt to attract Italians to the area. They just screwed up the spelling. ;-)

The move was missed by many who populated Mozzarell Avenue instead.

Of course Bainbridge translates to "gefilte" in various southern
dialects. So same idea ...... America is not so much a
melting pot as a rich conglomeration of various ethnic groupings .......

These are all very good ideas. hahaha Keep them coming...but if you know the "real" answer, include that too. I think my mom lived on Mozzarell Avenue. They were the days.
