Arrow I made a Wrong Turn From Passyunk and Ended Up In Connecticut

This happens all the time. I was on Passyunk down near Tasker, I missed the turn and next thing you know I was in Connecticut. It happens to so many people PennDOT is considering erecting a warning:

"DO NOT MISS THE TURN as the next stop is CONNECTICUT.

Makes sense right? Well in the suburbs it does anyway.

81-year-old's wrong turn worries town.
If you get to Conn., you've gone too far...
Associated Press

NEW MILFORD, N.J. - An 81-year-old New Milford councilman gave authorities a scare when he didn't return home Thursday night from a gathering of local officials.

But after a search that involved a number of police departments and a state police helicopter, Joseph Murray pulled his sport utility vehicle into the driveway of his Bergen County home about 4 p.m. yesterday.

Murray had taken a wrong turn in the few blocks between the borough hall and his home and wound up in Connecticut, Mayor Frank DeBari said.
"He just kept driving until he found a landmark he recognized and got home. He stopped for a cup of coffee, but that's it," DeBari said.

Murray's relatives said he hadn't eaten or slept but otherwise seemed fine, the mayor said. Murray was going to a hospital for a checkup.

His relatives contacted police yesterday morning after a grandson who lives with Murray told them that the councilman had not returned. The councilman, who won reelection Tuesday, also did not show up as scheduled at an 11 a.m. Veterans Day ceremony.

Murray was among a group of officials who returned by bus from a seminar on local government shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday, DeBari said. DeBari said he and others had asked Murray, as always, whether he was OK to drive home.
"He said he was fine. He only lives a few blocks away," said DeBari, who added that the former policeman and local postmaster values his ability to drive, even though he usually stays in the borough.

The mayor said Murray would get a lift home from future council meetings.
"He's not going to drive home any more - not at night, at least," DeBari said.

He probably shouldn't be serving on council any longer, either. There are signs, such as, "Now leaving New Jersey," "Welcome to New York," and others that should have given the smart-as-a-whip councilman a clue that he was no longer in Kansas or even with Toto.
