Default Is Anderson REC under-utilized?

Last Saturday we went to Morning Glory for breakfast. Afterward we strolled across the street to large park at 9-10th and Bainbridge and Fitzwater. The park is about the same size as Anderson REC but seems like use of the park is much, much higher, this despite there being fewer amenities. Rather the have a big open, easily accessible field. Ofcoure the actual Rec building provides a great resource for the nieghborhood, but I wonder if the field and outdoor areas couldn't be altered to increase use. The baseball field is beautiful but it seems because its so nice, acess must be restricted. Look at the fields down by Taney where they also have little league games. Anyway, its just a thought...
