Default FOUND: Small gray cat, 21st and Pemberton

There has been a small gray cat hanging around on my block (the 2100 block of Pemberton Street) tonight. She - I'm pretty sure it's a she, but I haven't actually checked - is short-haired, on the skinny side, has some white on her (paws, chest?) and an extra-long, very bushy tail. I suspect her of being lost because she is very friendly and affectionate and her coat is in good condition. She also acted ravenously hungry when I came out to give her a bowl of cat food, following me back to my front steps and squeaking. If this sounds like it might be your kitty please come and take her home!!

There have been pictures up of a lost grey & white cat in the neighborhood. I think I saw one (picture) up at the corner 18th & Lombard in front of Tangier Café among other places. Hope it's a match.

I didn't, no - I have a cat myself and no logical place to confine a spare one. I also wasn't certain that this was a lost cat as opposed to one who was allowed outside (didn't want to be stealing anybody's pet...)

I'll look for the poster at 21st and Bainbridge when I walk to school tomorrow. Just in case it's not there - could anyone who comes across one of the relevant signs, possibly post the details here??

Likewise, obviously, if word gets out that the cat has been reunited with its owners.

Thanks much!

Took a glance at it this morning and the poster was for a 16 lb orange cat with no collar and a shaved chest...I think. Sorry, short term memory failing me today!

Can I recommend that you take the poor kitty to the Morris Animal Rescue League at 12th and Lombard? A real owner will check the local places and find it.

It is getting cold. Morris is closed on Sunday and THURSDAY. Nothing worse than showing up with an abandoned cat when the damn place is closed.

Here's their webpage with hours:

I wouldn't recommend Morris because they are a "kill" shelter and a lot of the animals get serious colds, etc.

Please try a non-kill shelter like peoplepetpartnership.com

Good luck!

I agree - I would never take an animal to a "kill" shelter like Morris if I could help it.

Fortunately or no, I haven't seen the little gray cat again since I started this thread. Maybe she made it home or else just moved to a different part of the neighborhood. I hope you'll all keep your eyes open for her.

i saw a poster at 15th & lombard for a gray cat with white paws and chest. this cat had a collar, though, so i am sure it's not the same one, but i thought i'd post the info anyway.

Cat's name is "Roscoe."
