Default Naval Home area trick or treaters...

Being on the 2300 block of Grays Ferry Ave, I've never had anyone knock on my door. Is it that street or the area in general?

They head to other areas like Girard Estate, Packer Park where the candy is better

Is your porch light on, with decorations? Plus, your neighbors have to do the same.

Thats odd Joey. Two years ago we had nearly no trick or treaters so last year I only bought 2 bags of candy and was giving the kids 3 or 4 pieces each. I ran out in an hour! I'm expecting a lot more this year. I put a lit pumpkin candle on my stoop with the porch light on. And FYI - They were all cute little ones all dressed up, most with the parents or an older siblings, no undressed teenagers demanding candy like I have read on the blog about. (I'm right across from St Matthews Church and I know they do a "Halloween Party" and a ton of kids go there - so that may be why we get so many..)

OK, I'll try putting a candle out this year.

How was it Joey? I ran out of my 5 bags of candy at around 7:30pm. Unfortunately I only saw one other person on my block giving out candy but from the looks of some of the kids full bags many people were participating.

I ended up going to the concert at the Kimmel center. No one was home. :-(

We ran out of candy at 7:30pm also, and I bought $60's worth. My husband dressed up as a grim reaper with a hood who stood statue-like until the (larger) kids and adults came up to him. Then he moved silently toward them.

Next year, I'm videotaping the results.

I was a ghoul biker. My neighbors looked at me and could not stop laughing.

One victim of my husband laughed all the way to the end of the block. We could hear her as she rounded the corner.

BTW, $60's worth of candy takes a cart to wheel home. I gave it all out before I even planned to.

But, every year, we let people know we are here. One neighbor -- large inflatable pumpkin and ghosts, even if they don't give out candy.

Porch lights on of participants who do give out candy. Neighbors giving out candy team up so people won't have to walk long distances with little kids.

We do large outdoor hairy spiders, candles, scary music, and costumes.

The medical students stuffed a jumpsuit with newspaper and hung it from the window. They carved very ornate pumpkins and put lit candles in them. The rest did lights, costumes, and made sure the porch light was on.

So there is no doubt about where kids need to go to get candy.
