Earlier this week I was driving in South Philly and came across the most gorgeous block with absolutely beautiful large homes. It came at me pretty much out of the blue, and didn't really fit with some of the blocks I had just driven through. I can't remember exactly where it was, but I think it was 20th St., just south of Oregon. (I was on my way to Tunnels of Fun on the 3300 block of 20th). Anyone know what I'm talking about?

What are the Girard Estate and Packer Park borders?

We moved to QV about 4 years ago, after several years in NY, L.A. and Boston. I've heard of Girard Estates but hadn't explored down there. I guess I expected it to be more, I don't know, closed off or gated or something, not just out there with all the other blocks. It really was beautiful.

I think Girard Estates and I agree that is a nice area

Packer Park below Packer Avenue from 20th to 13th.

Girard Estates is, however, north of Oregon, is it not?

Here's my take,

Girard Estate, Passyunk to Oregon avenues, Broad to 22nd street.

Packer Park, Broad to 20th streets, southside of Oregon to Pattison avenue.
