...
The idea is to waylay people who are on their way to Famous Dave's or anywhere else and create an awareness about businesses in Pennsport. There will be money-off coupons, etc. There will be maps and shops by location, type, etc.
..
I think that's a great idea.. We recently moved to 'the grad hosp area' and very shortly before acquired a car, and I don't know how many times I have been down to either home depot, lowes, target, or famous daves -- i'm just now realizing that it's probably faster to drive down Broad through Pennsport than it is to go down Washington to Columbus..

That said.. I can very much see us using the shops/restaurants in Pennsport (since its so close and on the way to places we are going anyways..) if there were an easy way to pre-acquaint ourselves and figure out what was where, when it was open, etc..

I'm ambivalent about the (likely) possiblity of Harrah's setting up a slots parlor on Reed and Columbus. It could/would attract a fair amount of attention to the neighborhood. I'm just not sure what kind of attention that might be.

The 2-3 block buffer (movie theater, I-95, etc.) between Pennsport and the parlor will probably cut down significantly on some of the 'less desirable' foot traffic that a casino is bound to generate.

Default What the hell is wrong with you people

These casinos are going to ruin Pennsport. Have any of you tried to drive on Delaware Avenue recently - add 4.9 million visitors a year and tell me how you enjoy it then.

19147/19148 is the second safest area in the city (police statistics), when these casinos come that will change.

You all need your heads examined.

You are clearly new to the city.

PS. Its Foxwoods not Harrahs - glad to see you are paying attention.

Its time for a change from all of the lawyers and politicians stealing big time. Its time for the working guys to gain control of the city. That is why there is great future in Pennsport.

Who agrees, who disagrees?

Oh, sorry, here's Caffe Carmen!

John Dougherty is not the Chairman of The Democratic Party. He was recently ousted as our party's treasurer.

Joely, are you a Local 98 member? That will make a major difference in how I respond to you. So, please be honest. Pennsport is a great neighborhood. It's greatness has much more to do with the people who live there than those who purport to lead it.

Let me see if I got that right ...... the people from Norristown
show up and want to save the $15 valet parking fee (in case
they lose at the slots, they can still eat at Ruby Buffet).

So's they park at Moyamensing but they gots to walk past the
movie theater and they get mugged on the way. Is this what you
are saying?

I am not in the union. Thery will not let me in. I am a
Luddite. I burn wood in a wood-burning stove to keep
my electric bill down.

Hence .... no membership possible.
