I copied this from the QV website.
Any thoughts or ideas? Joel ~quoted~ Hello Neighbors, The QVNA Web site serves as a valuable tool for neighborhood communications. It has become a "virtual town hall" for Queen Village. We are in the process of developing a new and improved Web site that will feature more information, resources, and tools to improve our neighborhood. As we begin to develop the new Web site, we want your input. We want to know what information or features you'd like to see on the Web site. After all, the Web site is for all of us. Please share your comments and suggestions here, or email webmaster@qvna.org. We look forward to hearing from you! - QVNA Webmaster Back to top ~unquote~ TO: mailto:webmaster@qvna.org about: http://www.qvna.org/qvnaforum/index.htm 06/04/2005 Hello! First, let me congratulate you on an extremely pleasing, beautifully designed website and bulletin board. However, like a city, the most valuable resource is the community. Without people, beauty withers! Here is some applicable information. From September 1, 2004 until June 1, 2005 here are some stats. 40 users. 127 articles (including the 84 replies listed next) 84 replies to the above articles. Page views range from 50 to 100 to 200. What this tells you is that people are looking at the bulletin board but are not engaged enough to post, and then fail to return. My suggestions: 1. Bring in community content through syndicated feed (I sent you an e-mail about this last week). 2. Use PhillyBlog within a frame. (see below). 3. Do nothing, which unfortunately causes people to lose interest. Please see my suggestion at the bottom of this page. Small civic groups have power when people band together. I was just going to post a message asking if there are new or expectant parents in Queen Village who'd like to form a group. Perhaps there could be threads devoted to parents, singles and people with other interests in common. Back to top Webmaster Guest Posted: Tue May 03, 2005 8:32 pm Post subject: Suggestions for New Web Site -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for the suggestion. There are so many expecting and new parents in QV, it would be good to have a dedicated discussion thread all about this subject. As we launch the new site we can add this category to the forum. Hopefully, online discussions can lead to in-person get-togethers in playgrounds, parks, and homes. Are there any other discussion categories people would like to see? Let us know! We've been considering creating a "yellow pages" of QV businesses. This could easily be added to the Web site when it has been created. Meanwhile, if anyone would like to work on creating the yellow pages, email webmaster@qvna.org. Thanks, QVNA Webmaster Back to top Guest Guest Posted: Mon May 09, 2005 9:55 pm Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The best thing that could happen for this forum, of course, would be its discovery by more people in the neighborhood. Not sure how to achieve that, besides announcements in the QVNA newsletter. Maybe postcards or signs at neighborhood cafes? Anyway, thanks for starting it.
