Default QV parents' group?

Hi. Does anyone know of a group for new and expectant parents in Queen Village? If not, are you interested in starting or joining one? This would be a group for parents and babies to socialize, play and share info, nothing too formal. If you're interested, or if you know of a group already in existence and open to new members, please say so here!

Arrow Hiya!

Hiya!

I read your post and your similar post at the Queen Village Civic Association website. There is an answer and a life lesson too.

THE LESSON: If you want ANYTHING to happen in life, you do it!

With people, 99% of the world are flak-catchers who suck up and ask you interesting questions, like what kind of group would you like, do you want to close membership at 1,000 Queen Village area parents, etc. But in reality, it will not happen.

SO YOU DO IT!

Here's how:

First you go to VistaPrint and get FREE CARDS ($5.95 for shipping I believe, but they are colorful and a few are great for parents. I have seen some of them).

NEXT, you use this URL:

http://tinyurl.com/b35ra

Now you are at the pediatrician's place. You ask the receptionist if you can leave five or ten cards in the reception room. If she says no, you go into the rest room and leave them there inside a magazine.

Dog groomers .. yeah. Day Care .. yeah. You know, all those people will be thrilled. The pediatric dentist ..... yeah. They will ALL love you. Why? Because they will be over here too! They will be posting and getting some FREE exposure.

Try it!

This URL is recursive. It brings you directly to this thread.

http://tinyurl.com/b35ra

Then you guys post away!

Here is the VistaPrint website:

and here is a sneak preview of whots they gots.

(Life lesson too. You gotta DO IT to get it done).

So you spend an hour today, by Thursday you get your cards, and by Friday you got your club.

Sorry, I forgot.

The URL goes on the card,
so you get local Queen Village people.

NEXT, you use this URL:

http://tinyurl.com/b35ra

The address can also be publicized
all over the 'net for other Queen Village
people who may not see the same
pediatrician as you.

Another approach:

go to www.deja.com

Enter search terms such as alt.parenting Queen Village

and see who appears!

Then participate with them. Or invite them here.

It's a wonderful suggestion, I'm sorry to see noone is responding to your post. Maybe you'd get more response if you put up a flyer or made inquiries at Old Pine Community Center at 4th and Lombard???

Good Luck to you!

I'm sure there's at least one pre-existing parents group in QV. Not sure you need to go to all the great lengths joely describes. I would maybe just call up a neighborhood preschool/daycare and ask if they know of any local groups.
