Where approximately on Kater is it closer to 20th or 21st -- North or South side of the block? My girlfriend lives in the middle of that block and I was going to scale her roof to check it out. I just am never wearing good scaling kind of clothes when I am out on her deck.

Well, I agree with Londoner, and I live in a 2-story house in the middle of this great 3-story land. I'd love to see some 60-foot townhouses, as long as the design's decent - if only to piss off people who thought their views were safe in their 3-stories. Ever think of poor fools like me in our two story houses? My view is blocked 360 degrees by you guys. How come you all deserve that extra floor?

If these 6-story houses get blocked, I'm thinking of starting a movement to change the rules so all you 3-story dwellers have to shave the top floor off your house. So there.

It's right on the northwest corner of 20th & Kater. I see a large roll of a black felt-like material on the ground behind the house, which I think is one layer of the planned roof garden, plus very large sacks of some unknown material. That's what leads me to believe the garden hasn't been installed yet.

ok.

when i move back from london and nyc, those awful cities that have a plethora of those dreaded 4-5 story buildings all over the place, i will STILL say that it is pathetic to moan about 60 foot homes in your neighborhood.

I like sunless canyons, street lights reflecting off of damp streets. a perpetual light drizzle, ominous clouds, Neon lights. the closer to Blade Runner the better

besides it'll be sunny on the rooftops

is there a design for these things? will they have stupid garages on the bottom? these could be cool.. you know, cities are kinda all about verticality. the only valid problem i can see is if they didnt engage the community about it, knowing that they'd cause a stir like this. but if they had zoning hearings or whatever and no one came....
