Don't quote me on this, because I'm still learning myself, but I believe the NAC is meant to offer lower-income support services to those within it's boundaries.
And yes, it's true that SOSNA declined to receive the NAC grant for this expanded area at renewal time, since SOSNA as a neighborhood association is about more than just that, and was also not inclined to expand it's boundaries (which fall between South Street & Washington Avenue, & Schuylkill only as far as Broad -- a big enough area as it is). Anyway, I'm just the messenger. Please don't shoot me. Any questions about this NAC should really be directed to the NAC Coordinator, Lydia Dunlap, at 215-336-3511x313 / Ldunlap@dcsphila.org I don't really know her well but she seems to be a very nice woman who simply wants to help connect people with the services available to them. She just asked me to pass the word around about these monthly meetings at MARC that she's now attempting to implement.

lolly,
I thankyou. I haven't heard squat about this, and I'm a bit speechless. Qvna started as an nac. Part of an nac's job is zoning. It's b.s. And does not belong in our neighborhood.
