Minar Palace opened this week at 13th and Walnut. We are long-time Minar patrons, but the take-out food we got tonight was kind of salty...
I have been getting take-out from Ashoka Palace on 19th Street recently. Apparently, the chef is the former chef at Minar. I think they are ranking a little higher right now... Can anyone else weigh in on this weighty issue? I've read the Minar blogs, so I know how important this is to some of you... |

Although Alesis is correct, I am glad to hear that Minar Palace has reopened. Being that it's conveniently located about halfway between my work and home, and therefore is conveniently close to neither, I don't know when I'll be trying it in its new iteration.

I think I will have to agree with bvb. After picking up my usual lamb vindaloo and saag paneer from minar last night, I must say, that the food at ashoka palace tastes much more like the food I remember at the old minar location. The new place looks nice, but they still serve with paper plates. I think the management and cooking have split up into two separate locations and what we have are two restaurants of which neither is perfect. Being that it is fast food, I'll probably stick with the tastier food and the original chef at ashoka palace.
