I don't doubt that. The food is delicious, to be sure. That said, we just can't get over the sight of a roach in the vindaloo.

I'm a long-time Minar patron who tried Ashoka this week. It's convenient to my office and is now my new regular lunch place. It's a tad more expensive than the old Minar, which was very low-cost. The food is very good.

I agree this would be a major turnoff, and would probably cause me to stop ordering for at least a while as well.

Did you tell them about the incident, and if you did, what was their response?

I think a lot of good restaurants have problems with vermin. They certainly do in NYC where even if a kitchen is spotless, a building nearby may have a problem which can spill over. South St is probably the same way.

The big question in my mind is how they deal with a problem when somebody complains.

I am not the owner nor am I related to anyone from Minar or AShoka Palace. I'm an italian man with a family of 4 from Northeast Philadelphia. Last time I checked the owners of Minar were INDIAN hence their Indian Restaurant. Get your facts straight before you spread more rumors. This is a blog I am allowed to post my opinion much like you did with no factual information just assumptions on your part which cud not be further from the truth. I like a few restaurants in Philadelphia and I am loyal to them so when people make things up I defend them Im a food critic. Get your facts straight THANK YOU

Well, I gave your restaurant a positive review at another site, but you called me ignorant for referring to the owner's wife as Mommy Mean-ar. Just because she may not know the language well enough, doesn't excuse her demeaning facial expressions and body language and doesn't make me ignorant either. It isn't difficult to read facial expressions, you jack-off!

Folks, you can read my review and VincenteM's response at the following link:

You know wat...its quite evident that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and that you carry some of the same lowly demeanor as Mommy Mean-ar towards your customers.

Maybe you should just call your restaurant Mean-ar Palace. It would be quite fitting.

The facts? how am I suppose to gather facts about you? Your idiotic logic suggests that I should take your own description of yourself at face value? What kind of moron includes the number of family members in a self-description and is offended by rumors about someone else? Your a food critic from the northeast who drives past (assuming you have a car) by ekta and tiffin and chooses minar as the premier indian spot in town? You can't be a food critic! You relay details and make statements like "their has been only one owner of minar PAST and PRESENT" and that minar never "claimed to be ANYTHING but a FAST FOOD place!"...and then expect us to believe that you aren't a mouthpiece or the actual mouth of minar yourself? No sir, you are the idiot, who doesn't know not to respond or treat customers in this manner. Get off of here since your opinion of your own business does not count!
