I don't doubt that. The food is delicious, to be sure. That said, we just can't get over the sight of a roach in the vindaloo.

I'm a long-time Minar patron who tried Ashoka this week. It's convenient to my office and is now my new regular lunch place. It's a tad more expensive than the old Minar, which was very low-cost. The food is very good.

I agree this would be a major turnoff, and would probably cause me to stop ordering for at least a while as well.

Did you tell them about the incident, and if you did, what was their response?

I think a lot of good restaurants have problems with vermin. They certainly do in NYC where even if a kitchen is spotless, a building nearby may have a problem which can spill over. South St is probably the same way.

The big question in my mind is how they deal with a problem when somebody complains.

I am not the owner nor am I related to anyone from Minar or AShoka Palace. I'm an italian man with a family of 4 from Northeast Philadelphia. Last time I checked the owners of Minar were INDIAN hence their Indian Restaurant. Get your facts straight before you spread more rumors. This is a blog I am allowed to post my opinion much like you did with no factual information just assumptions on your part which cud not be further from the truth.
