(Not to start yet another dog poop thread, but I am PISSED) Almost every day I walk out my door to see a mound of your dog's poop. Then I have to unlock my door, go back in, get something to clean it up with, clean it up & dispose of it. Small, medium, large mounds. I don't know who you people are (yet), but what makes you think it's ok to leave this mess for me to clean up or for others to step in? You think this is ok? Why? You have that much disdain for your neighbors? Do you honestly believe that I enjoy cleaning up after you & that I have the time to do it? That it's my duty? That you're above the law? Would you like it if other rude, ignorant people like yourselves left the mess in front of your house? No? Than stop doing it in front of my house.

You all know that there's a $300 fine for each violation. You should know that it's only a matter of time before I find out who you are & report you, complete with pictures/video. I'm asking you to stop it now.

do you have a tree, or anything in front of your property you could stick a sign in or on? just print out a politely worded sign, laminate it, and attach it to a dowel. i've seen lots of these throughout the neighborhood. perhaps if they have a little reminder they will be more courteous. if they continue, start the sting operation.

ps: there are lots of signs available to buy, one from petsmart for $4.00. nicer, cuter ones are a little more expensive, but they exist.

The poop is most likely being left by bicyclists who ride on the sidewalk.

If only it were enforceable. I wonder if anyone in history has ever been fined here for this egregious behavior. Anyone ever hear of the law actually coming down on someone for this? If someone were actually apprehended, caught and charged with this, rather than seeing them get fined, I would love to see them be forced to clean up other dog owners' messes. Nothing could be more poetically just.

Unfortunatly I have yet to catch anyone not cleaning up after their dog.

Though when it happens It'll be promptly followed by being politly asked to wait there till the cops arrive to cite them.

I had the same problem, they would go in the tree pits. I planted petunias in the tree pits and I guess the neighbors thought twice about letting their dog dump on the pretty flowers. I guess it became someone else's problem. What to do in winter though...

Years ago in N Libs we were having car windows broken almost every night. We set up a camcorder on a tripod in 3rd floor window to take a shot every 10 seconds. We did not catch the kids breaking the window but did catch a thief leaving a building with his loot. He only lived a block over and the owner of the building knew who he was and the police took over from there.

If you can get the proper angle you should be able to catch the poop in progress w/o looking out the window for hours. On ff it only takes a couple of minutes to check out a days tape.
