The fact that its technically a takeout business.

Funny but that is pretty much still true with only a few exceptions, these coffee shop owners tremble under the thumb of the La Colombe cartel.

In my opinion the only thing DD will bring to SS is a lot more litter and that has to at least be noted here.

You've just made a few dozen people spit their coffee onto their computers!

I'm so paranoid about my bag being stolen, I'd probably shove it up my ass if I could. I usually keep it on my lap. I never put it on the back of a chair or on the floor.

If they put a table or two in the store, would that be a way to cancel out 'take out?' A number of Dunkin Donuts in Center City have seating.

wawa used to sell dunkin' donuts, but now they make their own. And all downtown wawas seem to be disappearing like a plague.

The bean does sell la colombe, and the logo stating such is on the right hand wall amongst their artwork and employee pictures.

Tables don't exempt from the takeout rule. Takeout is determined if even a single order leaves the premises for consumption. Basically, a restaurant has nondisposable wares, and a takeout uses disposable plates, cups, etc.

Not to derail, and correct me if I'm wrong, but your post seems to indicate that you don't appreciate the La Colombe citywide monopoly. I'm not a huge coffee drinker but the La Colombe coffee seems pretty good to me. So I don't see the problem unless you're referring to the usual negatives of a monopoly like high prices and decreasing quality.
