Default farm fresh vegetables available in Bella Vista

My husband and I live near 11th and Carpenter. We are farmers who run a farm and grow vegtables and herbs on a farm in the Somerton section of Philadelphia called Somerton Tanks Farm. It is located on Philadelphia Water Department property where there are 2 large water storage tanks, thus the name. We are associated with a non-profit group called the Institute for Innovations in Local Farming.
We have a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program where people purchase a "share of the harvest" before the season starts and recieve 22 weeks of fresh, nutritious, delicious organic vegetables. There is a pick-up located at our apartment near 11th and Carpenter on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 from the end of May to end of October.

To learn more about this farm project and to get more CSA information you can go to:

www.somertontanksfarm.org and click on Subscription Service
or

Your link to the CSA is broken. There are a few providers you can see them all here.

We were going to do the lancaster one but will look at your as well. We used to be part of a farm co-op in Portland and I hope people here on the blog join up and support this. This is great stuff.

Find a few people to split the cost with if it's too much, they are generally around 500-550 per season. For 275 bucks you get awesome stuff for 22 weeks if you split.

Thanks for providing the correct link.

We also have 3 other pick-up locations. At the farm in Somerton on Wednesdays, Mt. Airy on Tuesdays and at the Rittenhouse Square Metropolitan Bakery on Thursdays.

Welcome to Bella Vista! If there's anything the Bella Vista United Civic Assoc. (or anyone for that matter) can do to help make your venture succeed, please let me know!
