Default Transformer blew on 8th St...again

The transformer blew out, caused a big noise and a major inconvenience, not to mention took out the power on the 500-800 blocks of South St.

Roll call...who lost power for about an hour and a half?

I thought that wasn't scheduled again until next Greek Picnic?

Saw the trucks on 8th when walking back from Royal Tavern. Was afraid I wouldn't have electricity (and therefore A/C), but my place on the 800 block of south was unaffected.

There were sporadic outages on parts of south street last night starting at around 7:30 until about 8:30.

There was a notable "Pop", and then darkness and no lights, power, a/c, fans, etc. from a little before 7, until a little past 8:30 last night. Fun.

Saw three PECO trucks around on my home tonight, and got worried. Spoke with a PECO supervisor on the scene, and he said that one of the trash can buckets on the pole was being overloaded--too much activity around here. So they moved some lines north on 8th apparently. He said it should ease the problem.
