Default Good Food, Good Beer event at the Shambles this Sat.

From QVNA email...I'm out of town this weekend, but seemed like a cool event.

Good Food, Good Beer and The Rest Is History
Saturday July 19th

New Market, 2nd & Lombard in Historic Philadelphia

Farm to City, a business based in Queen Village, invites you to this great local food and beer-tasting annual event. Many local restaurants and micro breweries will offer tastings of their finest under the Shambles at the historic New Market, 2nd & Lombard in Philadelphia's Society Hill. Good Food Good Beer is on July 19th, 5:30 - 8:30 pm.

Good Food, Good Beer rounds out Philadelphia's Buy Fresh Buy Local Week for 2008. The event is a fund raiser for the Philadelphia Convivium of Slow Food and Green Village Philadelphia.

Tickets: $30 for five plates and $22 for three plates. Beer is complementary. Reduce waste- bring your own beer mug (up to 8oz.).

To purchase tickets, go to http://farmtocity.org/event.asp. Make your reservation now as capacity is limited. Tickets can be purchased at the gate provided there are still places available.

I'm bringing my little red cup in anticipation of getting arrested.

It's not an art gallery opening, but nonetheless, be careful with that silo cup in your hand.

I hung out at La Creole(an after hours club in QV) the night it closed for good. The owner said, "hey I want you to have this". It is a handmade mug that some art student gave him many years ago, My wife is not too fond of it, and it sits above our kitchen cabinets where it cannot be seen.

I may bring it to the slow foods event. If you see anyone with this mug, come up and say hi...

crap. you got me there.

And come to think of it-the lil' red cups are 9oz., not 8.

I'm screwed. Better go cup shopping.

And since its a slow foods event, I guess you are to drink it sloooowwwly.

Philadelphia brewing will be there, so it should be interesting to try out their new stuff. I rarely eat at the events since its a bit akward walking around with little plates with mounds of crap on them.
