Default Dozens of cops on South between 3rd and the TLA

Was this just because the TLA might have been letting people out, or was there something going down. Seems a bit over-kill for a music venue emptying.

Around 11:15 Friday night.

Wait until you see it Saturday. That entire block on the north side will be filled with police and emergency vehicles. OH, did you get the honor to have south street duty tonight? All of my friends from the 25th are going to be down here.

Every year for as long as I can remember.

We got a break and are only there tonight as compared to Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Plus I don't think it will be 16 hours and we are not in the 300 or 400 blocks.

Gyros and souvlaki for all!

You could try to google it or search through old threads in the BV/QV/Hawthorne forum.

"Greek" Weekend--they were kicked out of Va. Beach years ago. It's when the Black fraternities and sororities come to Philadelphia for their national convention. Picnic in Belmont by day...massive cruising by night, usually culminating is some really fun festivities on South St. And a few...dozen arrests. Most of these, to be fair, are of people from Camden, Norf Philly and West Philly, who decide to come down to partake of the extra fun. Oh, and look up "twirling".

I'm so paranoid about my bag being stolen, I'd probably shove it up my ass if I could. I usually keep it on my lap. I never put it on the back of a chair or on the floor.

Ironically, South Street Souvlaki always puts up a "gone on vacation" sign during this lovely time of year...hehehe
