Default Try

Ask the people around 21st & Wash if the would do it

There are some "Stone" places

They have the equipment and the know how.

They can get good free publicity if you inform the TV and other News outlets

You may need to call the mayors hot line to get it started after you get the masons.

It sure seems like it has been more than a month. In my opinion the QVNA should start thinking about taking some type of ownership of the fountain. Maybe even the new development trying to sell townhomes for 500k+ would kick in some cash to spruce up that end of the block, which could be very nice.

Further, the truck driver should be banished from QVNA unless he submits to a good old fashion tar and feathering at the QVNA fountain dedication party in two weeks. Also I would not let my dog drink from that fountain, who does that?

Thanks for the article Ronnie.

Great article.

Its pretty simple. The truck driver should have insurance, the insurance company should be paying to fix it. The South Street Headhouse District was the one who coordinated the renovation of that strip of bainbridge, and they should be working with the city to get it dealt with immediately.

You would think that the QVNA is SO concerned about preserving the historic 'look' of the neighborhood that they would enact onerous home building codes that they would have 'jumped' at claiming responsiblity for taking care of this

I don't know if I'm elated or miffed.

Just got a text saying that they are fixing the fountain right now, and that the water will be on tomorrow.

Why am I ticked? By looking at this thread, this has gone on for over a month-then magically its fixed the day a news report comes out in the daily news. So many things like this go unattended, and it seems that nothing happens unless certain departments are questioned by the press.

Oh well, its back up and scrubbed clean.

Was that chip always there? I don't recall it. And how did that driver run into it anyway, was he drunk or just an idiot? Maybe they need some iron poles up around it.

So what else do we need Ronnie to write an article about?
