The story I heard last night was pretty funny. Apparently the new owner, who isn't from here, wanted to name the bar after himself. To his dismay, he quickly learned that there was already a bar called Woody's. So, the Wooly Mammoth was born.

Here's some picts, including NBA draft pick Jason Thompson who successfully tried his first car bomb last night-unfortunately that's all he could have since today was a big day, but he hung out for awhile and seemed like a really nice guy.

The new bathrooms are nice, but I couldn't quite figure out why they had limes in them.

The first pict was right before the influx of people. Overall they had a great crowd for a wed. night.

So Cheers to You is now the Wooly Mammoth, Abiliens is Miami Cafe, Dickens Inn is the Dark Horse, Who's on Third is now condos....if anyone sees the 1990's in Philly tell them i said hello and that I remember them fondly....Last night we were out at dinner at a restaurant on 3rd St. and the waitress told us she lived in Fishtown b/c she couldn't afford to live in this neighborhood and I thought that was funny b/c 10 years ago that was me and my now husband who moved to Q Village/Bella Vista because we couldn't afford the Art Museum area...funny how times change.

I just saw the 1990's tonight at another good night of the newly reopened JC Dobbs. You can go say hi when you get the chance!
