Nothing happens for the 8 hours that we are there and then after we leave this happens, it figures.

I almost expect to be mugged if walking around in the wee hours (actually it's just about guaranteed at some point -- who else is around at those hours -- the sheep, the wolves and the sheepdogs (cops) stretched too thin). At 1000 I don't expect to be attacked and don't really want to live in a place where I should (not really for me but how can I let my wife go out on her own and not worry when the drug addicts have become so desperate they do this crap in broad daylight?). Robbery is just about the dumbest crime there is (most people really don't carry a boatload of cash). The thugs willing to do it can be just about the most desperate and dangerous of criminals. Pay attention.

I'm not saying anything bad about the police, but the simple fact is that in the areas I do business in, it seems harder and harder to find an officer during the daytime. Criminals know this, and will act accordingly.

O.H. Lee - were you in the neighborhood for 8 hrs before this happened. Trying to understand your comment. I live right there but I am rarely out that late. When I am I do get concerned if I am walking by myself. If fact I will take a cab home if it is that late.
Anyway this could happen any where it only takes one jerk with a gun. If they catch someone like this I hope they put them away for a long time. |

We finished up around 12 AM after working for 8 hours, and during that time there were no in progress calls. (No robberies, burglaries, etc.) We were in an out of that area, along with others, because of the nice weather and people walking about. And nothing at all happened (I guess that is a good thing) until we went home. That is what I meant.
Also there were two day time robberies point of gun in the past few days. Both around 9-10 AM possible by the same B/M armed with a black gun. I don't have the full description with me, but they did stand out as not being the norm.

Add to that the shooting last night at 5th and Carpenter. 19 year old guy on a bike gunned down with one shot. Pretty sure he is dead. At least that is what everyone on the scene was saying.
Nice to have the warm weather back ![]() Those plans to move to upstate NY just got a little more concrete.
